Welcome to FloodSight. Your privacy is critically important to us. This policy explains how we handle data when you use the FloodSight application.
FloodSight uses your device's location to provide accurate, localized flood information, radar, and river gauge data. Your location data is processed locally on your device and is never stored, logged, or transmitted to our servers. We request location access solely to center the map and display relevant local hazards in real time.
To help keep FloodSight free for everyone, we use third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve ads.
Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
FloodSight requests environmental data directly from official government sources, including the National Weather Service (NWS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the United States Geological Survey (USGS). When your app requests data from these services, standard network information (such as your IP address) is temporarily visible to these agencies as part of standard internet protocol routing. We do not control the privacy policies of these government agencies.
